The Odisha government has unveiled an ambitious AI Policy 2025, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence education into primary schools and deepen it through secondary levels. By 2029, 35% of government schools will deliver AI modules for foundation learning, while by 2036, 90% will offer advanced courses encompassing data science, coding, and AI ethics. The rollout also extends to capacity building: 8,000 citizens annually will receive basic AI training by 2029, increasing to 18,000 by 2036. Strategic partnerships with Intel India and the Wadhwani Foundation will support AI labs, incubators, and innovation centers. The initiative aligns with the India AI Mission’s “Future Skills” funding to embed AI across sectors—including education, healthcare, agriculture, and governance—using 65% renewable-energy-powered infrastructure. Additionally, 75% of government officials will be trained in AI fundamentals by 2029. This move paves the way for Odisha to emerge as an AI-powered education and innovation hub, enabling students and officials to drive ethical, sustainable tech adoption. By cultivating AI literacy from an early age and building institutional capacity, the state is well-positioned to lead the charge toward a digitally empowered future.
